Editions is an annual selected print exhibition curated byTacit Contemporary Art celebrating the diversity of printmaking.
Tacit Contemporary Art launched its acclaimed new premises and five galleries in February 2013 with the first Editions exhibition,
curated by Stephanie Jane Rampton, featuring 19 printmakers and more than 60 works on display.
In its second year, Editions will occupy all five galleries alongside the Project Space, representing a staggering 42 printmakers from Melbourne, regional Victoria and New South Wales. That’s more than 100 linear metres of prints on display!
Etchings, linocuts, screenprints; woodblocks, monotypes, lithographs; drypoint, aquatint, relief. Abstract imagery; urban, domestic
and rural landscapes; seascapes; flora and fauna; portraiture; fantasy; architecture. Despite the diversity of the images, and the
techniques used to create them, like Alice, the artists featured have one thing in common: they live through the looking glass and
have learned to see the world in reverse.
Editions features established, award-winning printmakers through to emerging artists. And, of course, there’s many more in-between.
The largest privately curated exhibition of prints in Melbourne, Editions embraces the new in respect of past traditions.
