“The idea for my third show at the Tacit Contemporary Art came to me after my last visit to Poland in December 2013.
It was winter time in Poland then. There is something melancholy about the winter landscape from which I could not break free. I had to try it. Creating an atmosphere of immensity and serenity of this type of landscape was my main intention.
To achieve this and add more drama to my idea, I multiplied my favourite canvases into groups of two or three. For the first time all my works are painted in acrylic, which I think is a fantastic medium. This corresponds to my temperament as a painter. I like to work fast and do not like to wait too long for the paint to dry to be able to continue. Otherwise I lose the freshness. To capture the essence of winter, all landscapes presented in the exhibition The Awakening are powerful in colour, carefully thought out and complement each other to build a cohesive presentation.”
